Center for Arizona Policy Surveys Candidates for Federal, State, and County Office

Center for Arizona Policy (CAP) is sending over 200 surveys out today to candidates for federal, state, and county office to comprise CAP’s 2012 Voter Guide.

For 14 years, CAP has published the Voter Guide to provide voters with straightforward answers directly from the candidates. For many Arizona voters, the Guide has become their go-to resource during the election season. (more…)

All This Fuss for Nothing

Governor Jan Brewer recently signed into law HB 2800, the Whole Woman’s Health Funding Priority Act.

The new law ensures that abortion providers do not receive any family planning funds that pass through the state.

Planned Parenthood and other abortion supporters have been in hysteria over this law from the beginning of session. They’ve painted a doomsday scenario in the press, claiming this bill will deny low-income families access to medical care.

But as in most cases with Planned Parenthood media campaigns, the facts are not on their side. (more…)

Religious Freedom Wins: Governor signs HB 2625
Law protects religious employers from being forced being forced to violate their religious beliefs

PHOENIX – Governor Jan Brewer has signed HB 2625, which protects religious employers from being forced to violate their religious beliefs by covering abortion-inducing drugs or contraception in their insurance plans.

The new law puts Arizona more in line with other states that do not have restrictive government mandates requiring coverage for these medications. (more…)

In recognition of the National Day of Prayer on May 3, CAP Church Relations Director Pastor Terry Anderson has a three part blog series on the importance of praying strategically and with a purpose. This is part I.

Have you ever had a “weird” moment turn into a God-moment? I have!

Before a lunch meeting with friend, I offered to pray. He stopped me and said, “The Bible doesn’t say you have to pray before every meal. So, what is your motive for this prayer? What is your purpose for this prayer? Is it for God or for you?” I responded, “Wow, man! It’s just lunch!” (more…)
