Court: Mother’s Health & Safety Act is Constitutional

A Federal District Court has ruled that HB 2036, known as the Mother’s Health & Safety Act, is constitutional and denied the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) and Center for Reproductive Rights’ request to stop the law from taking effect.

The law regulates abortion by prohibiting most abortions after 20 weeks of a pregnancy. (more…)

Planned Parenthood Files Suit Against CAP-Supported Law

Planned Parenthood Arizona filed a lawsuit in federal court yesterday to prevent a Center for Arizona Policy (CAP)-supported law from taking effect. The bill, HB 2800, prohibits taxpayer dollars from going to abortion providers.

CAP, along with the Susan B. Anthony List and Alliance Defending Freedom helped draft HB 2800. (more…)

ACLU Sues to Block CAP-Supported 20-Week Ban on Abortion

Against the best interests of the health and safety of Arizona’s women, the American Civil Liberties Union and the Center for Reproductive Rights have filed a lawsuit to block CAP-supported legislation that prohibits abortion after 20 weeks.

Center for Arizona Policy helped draft HB 2036, known as the Mother’s Health and Safety Act, and testified in support of the bill.  (more…)
